History of Teatro Rizalia

----In 1986, Teatro Rizalia was founded and was formally recognized as an official cultural organization of Rizal Technological College then Rizal Technological University. Teatro Rizalia was under the Department of Cultural Affairs. The organization's mission is to foster and maintain the cultural heritage of the Filipino people through theatrical presentations and related activities. This was the time when the cultural troupe was based in Pasig Campus. Boni student members had to go to Pasig for training. Teatro Rizalia became a very much loved organization for the students. Hundreds of student joined for membership. This then prompted series of successful performances.

----The pioneer members notwithstanding the bareness of resources worked hard for the productive cultural activities under the painstaking persistence of its founding Director in the person of PROF. DORIS D. TULIO. The in-house multi-talented choreographer, MRS. DIVINA M. BEHNKE, religiously assisted her. Both of them have a common goal, that is, to develop the artistic talents of all members in order to produce quality performances. The group suffered not just little bit but so much that each of the thorns which had pricked them, strengthened their unity and built stronger bridges of love and devotion to one another and to the world of performances.

----Here into is the list of the leads of the Cultural Affairs who have contributed to the realization of the Vision and Mission of TEATRO RIZALIA.

July 1986 - May 1989--------------Dr. Doris Tulio
May 1989 - November 1989 -------Prof. Emperatriz Gutierez
January 1990 - June 1993 ---------Prof. Reydora Flordeliza
July 1993 - October 1993 ----------Prof. Estelita Sarmiento
October 1993 - Present ------------Prof. Reydora Flordeliza

----It is worthy to give due recognition to the pioneer members of TEATRO RIZALIA who can be considered the pillars of this theatrical organization. The success of the group is the product of the efforts and sacrifices exerted by the founding members who had offered more than what they can for the benefit of the group. Not to be forgotten for their equal strives are the members of TEATRO RIZALIA Boni Chapter, the counterpart of Pasig Chapter since its (Boni Chapter) formation in 1997. Since the independent training had been provided to talented students of Boni Campus who equally thirsts for the glory and satisfaction in the performing arts. Rightly deserving attention, Boni students are now well organized that they can function independently, simultaneously and coordinately with Paisg based group.

----Through empty-handed and completely unequipped, several productions of guaranteed quality were put up out of the "3 B's" and an "S" --- Borrowed, Brought, Bought and Stolen by resourceful members, advisers and heads as well. The moving forces of the Cultural Affairs --the Master Choreographer PROF. JULIAN B. SANTOS, PROF. ORLANDO D. DUMANGCAS, and PROF. ROMEL B. VIVAR and MRS. MA. LUISA R. DAYRIT. The Teatro Rizalia will not be where it is now if not with the untiring Director of the Cultural Affairs Office PROF. REYDORA F. FLORDELIZA whose selfless effort put into reality and visions and dreams of the group. Her motherly caress is an ultimate inspiration for the members to have soul--fulfilling performance.
